1. Planning and Layout
Every aluminum fence installation starts with layout. We walk the property with you, identify the fence line, and confirm post locations before anything is dug.
We measure the yard, mark post centers, and run a string line to keep panels straight. We also plan for gate openings, slopes, and grade changes so the fence flows naturally across the property. Nothing moves forward until the layout makes sense from every angle.
2. Digging Post Holes
Once layout is approved, we dig post holes to the proper depth based on soil conditions and the frost line. Atlanta ground varies from hard clay to softer soil, so depth and spacing matter. Fence posts are typically set about 2 feet deep for stability.
Each hole is cleaned out and prepped so the fence post sits at the correct height and position. This step sets the foundation for the entire project.
3. Setting Fence Posts in Concrete
We set line posts, corner posts, end posts, and gate posts in concrete mix designed for stability. The first post is set carefully, since it determines alignment for the rest of the fence line.
Posts are checked for plumb, adjusted for slope, and allowed to fully set before panels are attached. Rushing this step leads to shifting, leaning, and misaligned panels later on.
4. Installing Rails and Aluminum Fence Panels
Once posts are fully set, we install the rails and aluminum fence panels. Panels are secured using self-tapping screws and double-punched rails to keep everything tight and secure.
On sloped ground, panels are racked or stair-stepped depending on the grade. The goal is a consistent top rail and clean lines across the entire fence.
5. Gates, Hardware, Hinges, and Latches
Gate installation requires extra attention. Gate posts must be reinforced, and openings must be measured precisely so the gate swings smoothly.

How Aluminum Compares to Other Fence Types.
We install every major fencing material, so we’ll give it to you straight — aluminum isn’t always the answer. Here’s how it stacks up:
Aluminum vs. wood fence. A wood privacy fence gives you full screening and a classic look, and it’s usually cheaper up front. But wood lasts about 15–20 years in Georgia’s humidity and needs regular sealing. Aluminum costs more per linear foot but outlives wood roughly two to one with almost no upkeep. If privacy is the goal, wood wins. If longevity and open views matter, aluminum does.
Aluminum vs. vinyl fence. Vinyl is another low maintenance option and works well for privacy fence applications. Aluminum has the edge on strength, slope handling, and that ornamental look vinyl can’t quite match.

Permits, HOA Rules, and Atlanta Fence Regulations.
This is the part most homeowners don’t think about until it becomes a problem. A few things worth knowing before your fence installed date gets scheduled:
- Height limits. In City of Atlanta residential zones, back and side yard fences can run up to 6 feet. Front yard fences can’t exceed 4 feet, and front yard fencing usually must be at least 50% open style — which aluminum handles naturally.
- Permit fees. City of Atlanta fence permits run $75 for fences 6 feet or less and $120 for anything taller. Fences over 6 feet also require review through the Department of City Planning.
- HOA approval. If you live in a managed community, HOA rules apply before installation. Most HOAs approve aluminum quickly because of its clean appearance.
- Historic districts. Properties in Atlanta’s historic districts may need a Certificate of Appropriateness.
- Property lines. Your fence must sit entirely on your property — getting the property line wrong can mean paying to move the whole thing.
